Moments of Magic
It was good to catch NDP2007 because its at Marina Bay this year. Can you believe my luck? Honestly, of how many tens of thousands of funbags, mine didnt have a battery-operated fan! My sister had to rub it in when I told her, "You sure or not? You can do without everything else in the bag but MUST HAVE FAAAAAAAAAAN!" But I still survived (:
Most of the performances were still similar. But I really love,
really love the Navy Display HAH :D It was Cool To The Max. Like the fighter jets were so bloody loud when they flew above us all but I liked it! And the RSAF F-16 (the five planes)! Oh and Apache Apache Apache! :D And of course the Red Lions yay. Fireworks were obviously good heh (:
I liked the beginning and the ending the most! But I probably wont be going for the next few National Day Parades because I fear the crowds..
Do you know how many rounds my sister and I made? We walked out to Marina and it was so packed we didnt really have to walk because people basically just keep pushing so you just have to flow along. And because they put up barriers we took pretty long to go one big round and end up 200m from the exit area? Yes.
But still, I pity the officers guarding the barriers, especially those at the area where people "u-turned" - so many were shouting at them! It seemed like everyone who passed the officers took the opportunity to say something, for example (this one I remembered quite clearly), "... the officer (points a distance away) like shit one lah!" Hmm, National Day indeed. And I also pity the plants everyone had to step on to make a pathway. They were all flattened - plants, NOT GRASS.
Ohwell, then when we walked what seemed like a reasonably tiring distance to the City Hall MRT, they started directing people away cause it was 'overcrowded'. Then my sister and I walked to Raffles Place MRT (!!!). I was wearing slippers man.
And I had my dinner/supper at 10++ at Newton.
